The Loom
Weaving Tales of Wisdom and Wonder
Story Nights for Women at the Upwey Wishing Well
After 20 months of weaving connection across West Dorset, The Loom has been invited to host three gatherings at the enchanting Upwey Wishing Well. Join us for these magical evenings of authentic storytelling, soul-nourishment, and sisterhood.

A Much-Loved Journey
For nearly two years, The Loom has provided a safe and sacred space for women to share stories in a magical weaving of real life tales or memoire, with traditional stories and tales rooted in the mythic imagination. With new storytellers joining us each month, and a growing community of women who come to listen and hold the space for those telling their stories, The Loom has welcomed hundreds of women to speak their truth and bear witness to one another in an ambience of intimacy, openness and trust.
The Loom is a space where you don’t have to "be" anything for anyone else. It is a night to listen, to be heard, and to recall the ancient ritual of women gathering in community to tell stories.
'Loom nights for me feel like a hug in a blanket - I sit nestled in a cosy setting, listen to women's stories of wisdom and magic and feel held by an energy that is difficult to put into words. And when I step up to share my own stories, I feel a huge sense of gratitude to be heard. Thank you Lu and Megan for providing these opportunities.' - Lizzy Rhodes, Tula Therapy (pictured right)
Now, we bring the gentle power of The Loom to the healing waters of Upwey.

A Winter's Quiet Story Night December 2025
Experience the power of stories
From personal journeys of resilience or adventure to the wisdom and wonder of myth and folk tales, these stories are a celebration of womanhood.
Whether you seek inspiration, connection, or simply an evening of beautiful storytelling, this is an event not to be missed.
The Loom provides a space where women - both new and seasoned to telling stories - can share in a supportive, encouraging and safely held environment. It is a curated event with five to six women pre-selected and supported with sharing their story beforehand.
Each night has a theme, around which the stories - whether real life of faery lore - weave their golden threads into a unique and playful tapestry.
