The Loom story night provides a space where women - both new and not so new to sharing stories - can perform in an extremely supportive and encouraging environment. It is a curated event with six women pre-selected and supported with sharing their story before hand.

A Visiting Storyteller for July

Madeleine F White
Storyteller, Novelist and Poet
Madeleine's work, published by the woman-owned Sea Crow Press, focuses on reclaiming the sacred feminine, embodied as myth, memory, and landscape, and stands as a 'cri de coeur' for women to find their own seats at the spiritual table. Her performance at The Loom will resonate deeply with our mission to create spaces where women's voices are valued and celebrated. She will be sharing the story of her personal exploration of the sacred feminine and challenging traditional narratives through her writing of prose and poetry.
During her time in Bridport, Madeleine is also participating in several other events hosted by The Jawbone Collective, including a "Maiden, Mother, Crone" workshop exploring the feminine through mythology on Saturday, 19th July, a Poetry Salon morning tea on Tuesday, 22nd July at 10:30 am, and an appearance as the Feature Poet at Jawbone @ the Poet Laureate on Tuesday, 22nd July at 7 pm. Her visit offers a unique opportunity to experience her compelling verse and engage with her insights on self-discovery, healing, and the profound power of women's voices. more...
Our vision is to create evenings that weave together
unique stories from across the generations

Kind words for Linda an attendee of The Loom

I was so deeply moved, listening to the women last night who shared their stories; so lit up and inspired, that l couldn’t get to sleep!
I was reflecting on the transformative power of their words!! They were vulnerable, courageous, humorous, wonderfully-crafted and truly authentic!
It wasn’t just the voices of those who shared their stories ; it was the warmth & supportiveness of the listening in the room! A gathering of women holding a warm receptive space for the ones who spoke. They were celebrating them, encouraging them, nurturing their voices as they listened.
