December Theme: Winter’s Quiet

As the solstice beckons and winter settles softly around us, join us for an evening of storytelling to light the long nights with warmth, friendship, and festive spirit. Six West Dorset women will share stories that reflect on the quiet magic of this season.

From personal tales of the heart to ancient myths that speak to the turning of the year, Winter’s Quiet invites you to pause, listen, and gather in the glow of shared story.

The Loom story night offers a welcoming space where women—both new and seasoned storytellers—can share in a deeply supportive and encouraging circle. Each storyteller brings a unique offering, drawn from lived experience, folklore, or original fiction.

Your ticket includes a selection of seasonal refreshments — enjoy a glass of wine, mulled apple juice, mince pies, and other festive treats to warm your evening.

Come to be inspired, to rest in the stillness of winter, and to celebrate the season’s beauty through the timeless art of story. Be moved, be uplifted, and leave with your heart kindled for the celebrations ahead.

Kind words for Linda an attendee of The Loom

I was so deeply moved, listening to the women last night who shared their stories; so lit up and inspired, that l couldn’t get to sleep!
I was reflecting on the transformative power of their words!! They were vulnerable, courageous, humorous, wonderfully-crafted and truly authentic!
It wasn’t just the voices of those who shared their stories ; it was the warmth & supportiveness of the listening in the room! A gathering of women holding a warm receptive space for the ones who spoke. They were celebrating them, encouraging them, nurturing their voices as they listened.
